With lockdown now in level 2 it means that we can finally get out the house – booze is back and social visits are also allowed, with a maximum of 10 people. So no house parties just yet (besides, house parties aren’t recommended if you want to be a good neighbour). Living in one of Randburg’s nano apartments or 1-room flats and dying to meet up with your mates (responsibly, of course)? Then we want to share our 3 favourite socially distanced coffee spots in Randburg: places where you can sit outside, chat and chill.
- Dolci Café
- Bergbron Plaaskombuis en Padstal
- CNR Café
Get some fresh air and take a seat on the shady terrace; enjoy Italian coffee with a truly amazing breakfast (served until 11am on a Saturday during lockdown), or, for lunch there’s an impressive pizza bar. Open for lunch and dinner during the week (closed Mondays), all day Saturday, and Sunday until 4pm.
Meet someone there: 28 Clarence Avenue, Craighall Park
For something a little different try the Bergbron Plaaskombuis en Padstal in Northcliff. This place is all about the dorp vibes: there’s a long, shaded stoep where you can enjoy an all-day breakfast on old-school enamel plates, as well as moer koffie to give you a serious kick.
Meet someone there: 268 Weltevreden Road, Blackheath
Another Craighall Park spot that we love. Sit outside in the large, outdoor seating area where you can enjoy coffee (or craft beer!), burgers, pasta, or anything in-between.Meet someone there: Corner Buckingham and Rothesay avenues, Craighall Park
Randburg has plenty of great spots to do socially-distanced meet-ups (and, if you’re willing to drive for 15 minutes, then you can check out these great outdoor activities too). It’s also an ideal suburb if you’re looking for flats to rent – it’s close to the Sandton CBD, and there’s even interesting history to the place.
Live Easy has secure, affordable flats to rent in Randburg to suit your budget and needs.
