Live Easy’s commitment to fostering a strong sense of community goes beyond providing affordable housing. Through initiatives like the Mandela Day charity drive and the annual networking event, Live Easy continues to invest in its tenants, offering opportunities for personal development, business growth, and community involvement. These efforts embody the company’s mission to help residents not just find a place to live but a community to thrive in.

Mandela Day Charity Drive: Giving Back to the Community

In celebration of Mandela Month, Live Easy hosted a charity drive throughout July, continuing their annual tradition of giving back to the community. Donation boxes were placed at each of Live Easy’s apartment buildings, where tenants were encouraged to contribute items such as toys, clothes, and other useful goods. The response was overwhelming, with tenants across all locations generously donating items they no longer needed.

This year, Live Easy introduced a new element to the charity drive by allowing tenants to have a say in where the donations would go. After gathering the donations, a draw was held, where tenants could nominate charities they felt strongly about. The winning charities selected were the Tshwane Leadership Foundation in Pretoria and the Little Rose Centre in Soweto. Both organizations are dedicated to uplifting their respective communities, and the donations will help them continue their valuable work.

As part of the initiative, Live Easy also invited the tenants who nominated the chosen charities to join the team during the donation handover, allowing them to be part of the giving process and connect with the causes they support. This personal touch helped strengthen the bond between tenants and the broader community, fostering a deeper sense of connection and purpose.

Annual Networking Event: Empowering Tenants

In addition to the charity drive, Live Easy also hosts networking events, which initially started as a Women’s Day celebration. Originally aimed at providing women tenants a space to network and support each other, the event’s success prompted Live Easy to broaden its reach, making it open to all tenants.

This event ties into Live Easy’s core philosophy, reflected in our slogan, “Move In, Move Up.” The networking event provides tenants an opportunity to showcase their talents, side businesses, or professional skills to their fellow residents, fostering a community of support and empowerment. Live Easy strongly believes in helping tenants progress, whether personally or professionally, by building networks and supporting one another.

Live Easy further empowers tenants by prioritizing tenant-run businesses for event services, such as catering, DJ’s and entertainment just to name a few. This initiative not only strengthens the community within the buildings but also gives tenants a platform to grow their businesses.
